Showroom visit and quotation

During a visit to one of our showrooms in Alphen aan den Rijn , Naarden or Amsterdam, we will discuss your wishes and you can gain inspiration for what your new wooden floor should look like. For example, think of:

  • Colour
  • Installation pattern
  • Length and width dimensions of the floorboards
  • Skirting boards
  • Optional: have a wooden floor installed on underfloor heating . We can even install underfloor heating and connect it to the heat source as an extra service.

You can also choose to make the showroom visit via video calling. Immediately after your showroom visit, you will receive a no-obligation quote for the chosen floor in your mailbox.

Subfloor inspection

If you agree with the quote, we will schedule the preliminary inspection and look at the subfloor and details in the room where the floor will be installed. During the inspection we assess:

  • The actual area on which the wooden floor is to be installed
  • Whether the subfloor is hard and flat enough
  • Whether the subfloor is not too damp

If it turns out that the subfloor is not yet suitable for installing a wooden floor, we will advise you on the actions to be taken so that the floor can still be installed. Depending on the condition of the current floor, we can also remove floors and install new subfloors if this proves necessary.

installing and oiling the floor

Our wooden floors are first placed and then finished with oil. After installation, it is important that the oil can dry for at least 24 hours before you walk on the floor. If for some reason this is not possible, we can pre-finish the floor in our warehouse for an additional charge. You can walk on the floor immediately after installation.

Your new wooden floor is ready for use

Once the oil has dried thoroughly, your wooden floor is ready for use. Please pay attention to the following things:

  • Only place rugs down after at least 3 weeks. This way the oil can harden properly.
  • Do not slide heavy furniture across the floor during the first few weeks. In addition, it is advisable to attach felt pads under the legs of your furniture.
  • Mopping can be done two weeks after oiling. You can keep the floor in perfect condition by regularly vacuuming and mopping with floor soap such as Clien-Z. Clien-Z has a cleaning and maintenance effect for oiled floors and Clean Gloss mopping agent for varnished floors.
