Installing a wooden floor requires craftsmanship, especially if you choose an installation pattern such as herringbone or the chevron pattern. Most people therefore choose to buy a wooden floor from us and have the floor installed by our own installers. We think it is important that you buy a wooden floor that fully meets your wishes and that the installation process then runs smoothly. To do this, we go through a number of steps.

Showroom visit and quotation

During a visit to one of our showrooms in Alphen aan den Rijn, Naarden or Amsterdam we discuss your wishes and you can get inspiration for what your new wooden floor should look like. For example, think of:

You can also choose to do the showroom visit via video calling. Immediately after your showroom visit, you will receive a free quotation for the chosen floor in your mailbox.

Inspection subfloor

If you agree with the quotation, we will schedule the pre-inspection and look at the subfloor and details in the room where the floor will be installed. During the inspection we assess:

  • The actual surface on which the wooden floor will be installed
  • Whether the subfloor is hard and flat enough
  • Whether the subfloor is not too damp

If it turns out that the subfloor is not suitable yet for installing a wooden floor, we will advise you on the actions to be taken so that the floor can still be laid. Depending on the condition of the current floor, we can also remove floors and install new subfloors if necessary.

Installing and oiling the floor

Our wooden floors are installed first and then finished with oil. After placing the wooden floor it is important that the oil can dry for at least 48 hours before you walk on the floor. If that is not possible for whatever reason, we can finish the floor in advance in our warehouse at an additional cost. Than you can walk on the floor immediately after installation.

Your new wooden floor is ready for use

When the oil has dried properly, your wooden floor is ready for use. Please pay attention to the following things:

  • Only put down rugs after at least 3 weeks. That way the oil can harden properly.
  • Do not slide heavy furniture across the floor for the first few weeks. In addition, it is advisable to attach felt pads under the legs of your furniture.
  • Mopping is possible from two weeks after oiling. By regularly vacuuming and mopping with floor soap such as Clien-Z, you can keep the floor in perfect condition. Clien-Z has a cleaning and maintenance effect for oiled floors.

Costs to buy and install wooden floors

The investment for a wooden floor including installation are dependent of a few things:

  • The wood species. Oak floors are best applicable on underfloor heating
  • The thickness of the top layer
  • The installation pattern
  • The color. We deliver custom floors in 90 unique floor colors

As a guideline, you can take into account the following prices in 2023:
