Underfloor heating has been installed in this beautiful house as main heating on which a wooden herringbone floor has been placed.

Underfloor Heating Installation

Nowadays, all new construction projects are already equipped with underfloor heating as main heating. In addition, it is also used much more often in renovation construction. The underfloor heating provides constant pleasant heating, without the conventional airflows from radiators.

Would you like to have underfloor heating installed in addition to buying a wooden floor at Uipkes? Besides installing real wooden floors, we also have experience in installing underfloor heating. The advantage of this is that we can unburden you because there is a single point of contact who supervises the entire process, the materials are well coordinated and all work is carried out by the same professionals. Even without purchasing a wooden floor from Uipkes, we can install the underfloor heating for you as a separate service.

With underfloor heating, there are two systems that can be installed: on nets (deposit floors) or milled into (existing) screeds. Below is a step-by-step plan for installing underfloor heating and a cost indication for this. For more information about our floors that are suitable for a combination with underfloor heating, read the page about a new wooden floor on underfloor heating.

Removing the existing floor

In existing situations where there is a floor such as a tile, PVC or wooden floor, we can remove it for you. We take care of the removal and disposal of the floor and we can prepare the screed for underfloor heating.

Preparation for underfloor heating

If you opt for underfloor heating as the main heating, the existing radiators are no longer needed. Uipkes can remove these radiators and the conventional system. We can also remove an existing convector well radiator, we will close the well afterwards.

Pipes must be provided in preparation for the underfloor heating. Depending on the location of the distributor, we can install supply and return pipes to the location. In addition, the insulation of the floor must be considered. If this is not already present, it is advisable to insulate the screed. This can be done under the screed or at the top.

Existing screed

In many existing homes, not much construction height is possible. Existing doors and stairs can limit the height. This is one of the reasons to choose for milling underfloor heating. Slots are milled in the floor, in which pipes are laid. The slots must be closed with an epoxy agent so that the pipes are fixed. The slots can be milled in a number of floors:

New screed

When a new screed is poured, in the case of a total renovation or extension, the underfloor heating can be installed in the floor to be poured. In this case, tacker plates (insulation plate) are placed on the concrete. The underfloor heating pipes are attached to the tacker plates. The finishing floor such as a sand cement screed or anhydrite floor can be poured over this. Read more about installing underfloor heating in new screeds.
