Wet underfloor heating system and wooden floors

In this system, the underfloor heating is installed on the concrete base. Then, a finishing floor is poured over it. The screed is pretreated and then we place your wooden floor over it. This is a hot water tube floor heating system. Rule here is that there must be at least a cover of 28 mm screed on the heating tubes. Wet underfloor heating systems and concrete bound floors

Before you start gluing the wooden floorboards, you must perform the heating protocol. As a rule, this protocol takes 2 to 3 weeks and may not start before the wooden floor is 28 days old.

  • Minimum cover on the pipe of 28 mm and minimum thickness of sand cement working floor of 4 cm.
  • The maximum residual moisture content in the floor may not exceed 2.0%.
  • Use machine sanding or brushing to remove any sludges present on the surface. Then vacuum thoroughly with an industrial vacuum cleaner.
  • Prime the concrete floor with a primer, apply with the foam roller, lambskin roller or spatula. Use about 80-200 g / m². Drying time approximately 1 hour at 20 ° C and max 65% RV. Avoid ponding!
  • Then glue the wooden floorboards. Consumption about 1000-1200 g / m². Apply with toothed B11.

Residual moisture

If the subfloor contains more than 2.0% residual moisture but less than 3.5% residual moisture, then you should proceed according to the advice below.

  • Use machine sanding or brushing to remove any sludges present on the surface. Then vacuum thoroughly with an industrial vacuum cleaner.
  • Apply epoxy primer / moisture screen as a sufficiently covering layer with a coat roller, use approx. 350-400 g / m². Drying time 12-16 hours. Apply the next layer within 24 hours.
  • Then glue the wooden floorboards to the applied epoxy / moisture screen.
