The Dutch Pattern is a classic installation pattern for wooden floors in which planks are placed alternately in the longitudinal and transverse directions. This provides a nice change of directions and a playful effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which wood species are most suitable for the Dutch pattern?

Based on our experience, that is oak. Oak is easy to work with, durable, strong and can be finished in dozens of colors. In addition, oak has beautiful wood grains, which contributes to the atmosphere in the room.

How is a Dutch pattern floor installed?

The floorboards are glued directly to the subfloor. Installing the pattern requires craftsmanship that our experienced parquet installers have.

Is a Dutch pattern floor more expensive than a traditional plank floor?

Yes, that's because installing the pattern requires more labor hours and skills than a traditional plank floor.

Can a Dutch pattern floor be installed in combination with underfloor heating and floor cooling?

Yes, that's possible. All patterns we install are suitable for underfloor heating and underfloor cooling. This is because our floors are made of engineered wood. This type of wooden floor hardly responds to fluctuations in temperature and moisture content. The effect of the floor parts is so minimal that you can (if desired) install the floor tightly against the wall without skirting boards.

Can a Dutch pattern floor be installed in damp areas such as the bathroom?

Yes, that is not a problem. This is because our wooden floors are made of engineered wood. In contrast to solid wooden floors, engineered wooden floors are suitable for use in damp areas. Logically, it is not possible to install the wooden floor in the shower cubicle.
